Glisa
Glisa McDonald is a part time poet and creative writer who believes that writing is the inner voice of one’s soul. Glisa accomplished college level reading by age 4 which piqued her interest in writing. As a little girl, she would open all the books in her house and write on the blank pages.
Glisa never shared her writings with anyone but recalls her first realization that she should be a creative writer when her very stern college professor in Radio Production required each student in the class to write and produce their own radio show. Glisa wrote a radio satire skit on the blockbuster movie “The Matrix” where her fellow students played the characters. Her professor who usually showed very little emotion and rarely smiled suddenly burst into uncontrollable laughter and later wrote on her script that she created the most innovative and funny script he had ever seen in his career. From there, Glisa discovered her talent in comedic and creative writing which changed her life and led her to work on different writing projects.
Glisa has worked as an intern for the Tribeca Film Festival, and “The Rikki Lake Show” She has also worked as a freelance Television and Film production assistant for shows such as; Judge Hatchett Show, Life and Style, and several short films.
Glisa holds a Bachelor’s degree in History from Kean University where she also studied Theatre Arts. She also studied Radio Broadcasting and Television Production at Bergen Community College.
Glisa was born and raised in Bergen County, NJ and currently lives in Jersey City, NJ.
